    Adjourn to the parlor

North Stonington Historical Society presents “Ghosts, Gnomes, Gypsies: A Halloween Concert,” part of its Parlor Concert Series, on Sunday, Oct. 30. The show is in the Main House at 1 Wyassup Road in North Stonington. Concerts will be held at 4 and 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and reservations are required by calling (860) 599-3608 or (860) 245-5322.

The concert will comprise two parts — the first played on harpsichord and the second on piano. In “Harpsychosis,” Aymeric Dupré la Tour and Elena Zamolodchikova will take turns interpreting an eerie repertoire spanning from the Renaissance to Baroque.

“Pianophrenia” will include ghoulish Romantic pieces fitting to the historical society’s recently restored 1857 Adam H. Gale square grand piano manufactured in New York. The musicians will end their program on piano with a four-hand transcription of the Camille Saint-Saëns iconic Dance Macabre op. 40 (1874).
