Animal Welfare League hosts Paws to Celebrate

The Animal Welfare League of New London County is hosting a holiday fundraiser, Paws to Celebrate, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Boilermakers Lodge 614, 33 Sacred Heart Drive, Groton.

There will be cat adoptions, baked goods, silent auction and sale of used items. Pets can be micro-chipped at the event with a Home Again microchip for $25. To schedule an appointment between noon and 2 p.m. either day, call (860) 445-0280.

Donations of pet food also will be accepted.

Representatives from Compassion for Cats, Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue and local pound dogs looking for homes also will attend.
