Mystic artist featured in Old Saybrook

John Pattenden of Mystic is the featured artist for the month of January in the Marshview Gallery at the Estuary Senior Center, 200 Main Street, Old Saybrook. The public is invited to a reception for the artist on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Pattenden's patent artwork blends textures with fine art photographs, exploring the origins of iconic items from the inventor's vision to the finished product.

Pattenden won first place in the Graphic Arts category at the Old Saybrook Arts & Crafts Festival in 2013 and 2014.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of Pattenden's artwork will be donated to the Estuary Council of Seniors, Inc. For more information, visit www.patentartwork.com.
