New London edges Ledyard 68-62 to win ECC title

Waterford — Seth Lake scored 27 points, making eight 3-pointers, as top-seeded New London won the Eastern Connecticut Conference boys’ basketball tournament championship game with a 68-62 victory over No. 2 Ledyard before an overflow crowd at Waterford High School on Friday night.
Lake was named the tournament MVP as the Whalers remained unbeaten at 22-0 and won their seventh ECC tournament title in the last eight seasons.
