High school baseball: Vlaun pitches NFA past Bacon
Norwich — Nick Vlaun pitched a two-hitter as Norwich Free Academy beat Bacon Academy 4-0 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division baseball game at Dodd Stadium on Friday night.
Vlaun (3-0) struck out seven. Caleb Bierman had two hits and Tannor Fontaine had a two-run double for NFA (6-1, 3-0).

• C.J. Leindecker pitched a three-hitter and East Lyme rode an eight-run third inning outburst to defeat Ledyard 9-0 in an ECC Large Division game at Dodd Stadium. Leindecker (2-1) walked one and struck out 13 for the Vikings (5-2, 2-1) while Sam Gonski and Logan Banker delivered two-run hits during the third. Alex Tryon finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and Owen Tretter added two hits. Ledyard is 4-3, 1-3.
• Ben Dellacono had three hits and scored three runs in Stonington's 6-4 win over Tourtellotte. Billy Keane pitched a complete game, allowing five hits while striking out five and walking four while Shane Foster added three hits and two RBI and John Moody had three hits for the Bears (5-3).
• Thomas Sutera allowed just one hit over six innings as Waterford cruised to a 13-1 win over Lyman Memorial. Sutera also struck out seven for the Lancers (5-1) while Brent Conderino was 3-for-4, Griffin Archambault was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Michael Rocchetti had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice.
• Aidan Brennan had three hits, scored three runs and added two RBI, powering New London past Wheeler, 16-6. Troy Gray had two triples and winning pitcher Fred Pacheco stuck out six in seven innings for the Whalers (3-5). Kevin Knowles and Will Vorra each had a single and double for the Lions (0-6).
• John Staubley had two hits, scored twice, drove in two runs and was the winning pitcher as Norwich Tech beat Parish Hill 16-1 in a Constitution State Conference East Division game. Staubley and two relievers combined on a one-hitter. Mitch Clapsadle had two doubles and scored twice and John Cole had two hits, scored three times and drove in two runs for the Warriors (4-3, 3-0).
