    H.S. track roundup: Stonington girls, boys zeroing in on ECC Medium titles

    Stonington — Kate Hall captured first in the 100- (12.6 seconds) 200-meter events (26.2) to pace the Stonington High School girls' track team past Killingly 90-60 Wednesday, clinching a share of the Eastern Connecticut Medium Division title.

    Taty LaFrance Boyce won the shot put (31-2) and javelin (98-3) while Halle Anderson took first in the 110 hurdles (17.4), Anna Foster won the 300 hurdles (53.0) and Liz Gray won the 800 (2:30.2) for the Bears (5-1, 4-0).

    In other meets:

    • Naomi Clark won the 100 hurdles (16.4), 300 hurdles (49.3), javelin (95-11) and pole vault (7-6) in Montville's 97-50 victory over Waterford in the ECC Medium Division. Christianna Johnson took the shot put and discus for Montville (3-2, 1-2) and Mady Whittaker won the 400, as well as contributing to victories in the 4x800 and 4x400. Carissa Aekins (100), Zora LaBonte (200) and Rachel Dondero (high jump) won events for Waterford (2-2, 2-2).

    Boys

    • Dimitri Van Duine finished first in the discus (113-6) and shot put (44-2.5) to lead Stonington past Killingly 87.5-62.5, earning the Bears at least a share of the ECC Medium regular season title. Lincoln Robinson won the 300 hurdles (41.9) and triple jump (38-0) while Kieran Thornell won the 1,600 (4:40.1) and 3,200 (10:42) for Stonington (5-1, 4-0). Cam Whalen (110 hurdles, javelin) and Kyle Whalen (100, 200) also were double individual winners.

    • Devin Craig won the 110 hurdles (15.6), the triple jump (40-2.5) and the high jump (5-11) in Waterford's 78.5-71.5 defeat of Montville in the ECC Medium Division. Dylan Abate, Connor Chung and Joe Carano each won an individual event and contributed to a relay win for Waterford (3-1, 3-1). Van Heller took the 800 and the long jump and Kevin Murtha the shot put and discus for Montville (1-4, 0-3).
