Costly water line a mistake for Montville

As a Montville citizen I am at a loss for why the Town of Montville WPCA would push so hard to install a water line to the high school with a price tag of almost $7 million plus interest on the backs of all taxpayers. I know the school has a water quality issue, but I also know that SCWA has made several offers to connect the school for only $53,000. The WPCA is saying it's great for economic development but the Economic Development Commission is not in favor.

Why would anyone develop on an already congested mostly residential road when there is Route 32, the business corridor that has all utilities and is about 50 percent empty? On top of that, they are hanging their hats on a 200-unit housing project that will end up costing more for education than the taxes it brings in. There are so many other issues that need to be addressed, but this letter has a word limit. Please, Montville citizens, get involved and make sure your elected officials are doing what's best for you and the town.
