Inmate is in charge of the environment
The Senate won't take climate change seriously, but should. Too little, too late usually can be overcome, but when we're talking about the climate, there are no do-overs.
The article, "Climate pact fear: Too little, too late," (Dec. 1), pulled the optimism rug out from under the U.S.-China climate agreement President Obama achieved by executive action.
The climate is changing, but are you? My sense of dread is only intensified by the midterm elections result that will almost certainly make the most vociferous climate denier on the planet, Sen. James Inhofe, the most powerful senator on the environment when he assumes the chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. In 2012 Inhofe wrote "The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Controversy Threatens your Future" by using Biblical verse to refute internationally agreed upon scientific consensus: "The Genesis 8:22 that I use in there is that as long as the Earth remains there will be seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night. My point is, God's still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous."
Yeah, arrogance is the word; throw in some insanity, too.
