Besieged New London resident filled with frustration

    xxxxx

Fellow New Londoners, can you believe that we have been told that the only way to fund education is by raising property taxes just because we are worth it. So because of that great idea, I have decided to raise my tenant’s rents and tell them in a letter it is because we are worth it.

I wonder if the tenants are going to think it’s worth voting for you, mayor.

Why do you allow places like Connecticut and Mitchell College to forget what they are worth? Have you, mayor, walked their grounds, watched a race on the Thames or walked on Mitchell Beach, which by the way does not allow New London residents? How about the overcrowding at Green Harbor Beach in summer, while Mitchell’s sits empty? What it’s worth, mayor, and it is not even being taxed? Look at L+M Hospital properties, no taxes with pocketfuls of cash, all thanks to us.

We have kings sitting on property which none of us could afford. Yet you ask us to support education, without asking the wealthiest educators to contribute towards it. You allow a business like Electric Boat to jam up our streets, but make no provisions to hire New Londoners. You have become another clown with the same old boring act.
