Ledyard school board political on spending

For Susan Anderson to say "the Board of Education as a body has historically been non-political," (July 20), is hog wash. When the town's annual budget making process rolls around the Board of Education is as politically active as a bee hive. Anderson has always rubber stamped education spending caring less about other needs of the town of Ledyard.

Allow me to remind Anderson of the ruse an education official tried to pull off last year just prior to a referendum when he said "if the $500,000 cut from the proposed education budget is not restored, staff and programs will have to be cut." Guess what, the money cut was not restored and no cuts to staff and programs took place. I fully support a recent story in this newspaper titled "Ledyard GOP won't endorse 2 school board incumbents."
