I read the article, “Ethics Board calls for hearing on New London mayor’s comment,” (Aug. 26), on the front page about the fight between Mayor Daryl Finizio and Reid Burdick. This happened at the City Council meeting on April 20, 2015. The fight had name calling and homosexual references. This whole spitting contest is now in the hands of the Board of Ethics. Terrific! This means each side will haul out their lawyers and this will take time and money, neither of which the City of New London has.

The money spent on this non-sense could easily help start a new magnet school, or help the police work on gang problems. Young families are leaving the city because the schools are too violent and there are no good services in New London. You pay high taxes and then have to send your kids to a private school. That's nuts. Throw these scrappers out and do the job of making the city great.
