Former New Londoners urge Finizio ouster

It’s easy to catalogue the missteps and blunders made by Mayor Daryl Finizio. But, there is also the problem of perception. We moved to New London from New Orleans to be closer to family and friends. Sure, we saw that New London was a bit worn and knew its history. But we also saw something special and great. And, as a Yankee, returning from the South, I was sure one thing I could count on was sane and rational governance. I could never have fathomed the destructive, irrational acts by Finizio that continued to hurt the city and how the city was perceived by its prospective residents and businesses. We could not endure this insanity.

Long story short, the love affair ended and in December, so did our residence in New London. New London is on the edge of a cliff and if Finizio somehow manages to win the election I fear the worst for the city. Just drive around town, it seems as if every other house is for sale, at fire-sale prices, as the middle class flees. Think carefully on Election Day, New London, this may be your last chance.
