Use pellet head shots to cut goose numbers

A possible inexpensive solution to the Preston geese problem is using skilled marksmen with air operated pellet rifles. Operating cost is about a penny per goose. Permission from the state will be required. Geese are protected by both federal and state laws concerning all migratory birds. Were it not for these laws, there would be few if any geese remaining after the days of market hunting many years back.

Expert marksmen, either members of local sportsman's clubs or state employees, could be contacted to do this deed with state and local permission. It is quicker than any alternate form of euthanasia, and at a fraction of the cost. A goose's brain is about the size of a nickel, a relatively easy shot at 50 feet for such a rifle and skilled marksman. Much beyond 150 feet, this pellet has little or no remaining energy and can go no further. It can be done, with permission, of course. These air rifles are quiet too.
