Young New London players' success ignored by Day
I am writing concerning an issue that I am sure is The Day's mistake. The New London Youth Football League's 8 and under team won the Super Bowl, finishing the season undefeated. These 6, 7, and 8 year old children have been practicing nearly every day, rain or shine, hot or cold since July. These children of our community made a commitment to themselves, their coaches, their parents and our city. They made the commitment and followed through with it and brought that trophy home to our city. The newspaper's blatant lack of coverage on this is inexcusable.
The paper would be the first to cover a story where one of these kids was doing wrong but barely a mention when the kids are doing something positive for themselves and their city.
