Easy for experts to knock the police

Before the experts referred to in the article, “Racial disparities seen in police stun gun use in Connecticut,” (Jan. 28), start running off at the mouth, we should take a good hard look at the ground game going on in the mean streets of our society. Each and every one of these experts should walk a mile in the shoes of the men and women who protect society from itself; a society created not by law enforcement, but by the gutless politicians, consumed by political correctness. Will this analysis with its statistics show the cause and effect of each of these 641 incidents?

In how many of these incidents did the officer have a choice, in how many incidents did the subject fail to obey simple commands that would have protected the officers, the subject and the public? Before stun guns, how many of these incidents would have ended up with an officer's service weapon being used?

The failure of our elected leaders at the federal, state and local level helped create the decay of our society, especially in the cities with large minority populations. At what point do citizens on both sides of this issue say enough is enough? Perhaps this year voters will save America!
