A nod or thanks, what's more presidential?

I am not a body-anguage expert, but with nearly 70 years of experience behind me, and two new lenses in my eyes, there were two things I noted about the dueling presidential policy speeches on June 22. I know in this hyperpartisan, polarized political season some will agree with my observation and some will not. Those who have not already made up their minds are encouraged to read further.

First, in Secretary Hillary Clinton’s speech, when the crowd interrupted her with applause, she nods her head several times in approval of their reaction to her words.

Second, when businessman Donald Trump was similarly interrupted he said or mouthed the words, “Thank you.”

So my question to those who are still reading is: Who feels entitled to the office and who wants to earn it?

    George Jackson
