The dialogue continues. Along with many others, including those that live in the little city by the sea, I am disappointed with the choice of location for the proposed Coast Guard Museum. I find that I am also in agreement with many of the reasons that the dissenters, of the selected site, have brought forward thus far.
Never to be ignored, is the commanding presence of the Fort Trumbull area. It will also be a constant reminder that part of that awesome site once housed the Coast Guard Academy that was formally established there in 1915.
What a setting! What a sense of history! What a lost opportunity!
