More than Fizz needed to fix Connecticut
I was bemused by David Collins' endorsement of "Mr. Fizz Needleman for governor," (Oct. 9). Not only does he endorse Norm Needleman for the 33rd State Senate District, but he encourages him to set his sights on the governor's mansion.
Collins also indicates that he would like Connecticut Republicans to do well because he believes that Democrats, who control both houses of state government and the governor's office, have become too cozy with unions to get on with the business of spending cuts in Hartford. If Collins looked closer, he would clearly see that reducing out of control state government spending and borrowing are exactly what current Senator Art Linares and his Republican colleagues are trying to accomplish. Collins surely knows that Connecticut's fiscal mess will only be made worse by the election of another Democrat to the state Senate.
Collins likens the temperament and character of Senator Linares to Donald Trump. Anyone who knows Art Linares knows how absurd that comparison is. Far from being rude and bombastic, Linares is a courteous, considerate, bright and dedicated public servant. I urge all residents of the 33rd Senate District to vote for Senator Art Linares on Nov. 8 to continue his fight for fiscal sanity in Connecticut.
