Earth will survive, but probably not humanity
I felt a need to respond to the letter, “Spaceship Earth endangered, not that Trump cares,” (Feb. 3). First to drag in a man who has been president for 15 days simply means the letter isn't about climate change, but about another disappointed Hillary Clinton supporter. And trying to lay blame on our controversial new president? I mean, why not "Where was Donald Trump on Nov. 22, 1963?" Give me a break.
The self-importance of those who think we are going to "Save the Planet" is ridiculous. Human beings cannot even take care of themselves, and don't take care of each other. We kill our fellow man for a thousand reasons. Do you think under this situation, the world is going to come together and stop whatever global warming exists? Man control nature? Hardly.
Ninety percent of every living creature or plant that has ever existed on Earth is extinct. Every single day 25 species become extinct. Is man ever going to decide which survive and which die? Nature will take care of itself and clean itself up. One day that will likely include eradicating man from Earth. In 100,000 years there may be no sign that we had ever been here. Clean up after yourself and conserve? Certainly. Stop the course of nature? I doubt it.
