Let volunters and visitors cross street safely

I am writing to let motorists know that myself and others who live at the AHEPA apartments, an independent senior living complex, cross the street to volunteer or visit patients at the New London Rehab and Care Nursing Home. The issue is the drivers who do not stop to let us cross, even though we are in the clearly marked crosswalk area. Some drivers think it is a racetrack. Schools are in session and I want all of us to be safe. Be alert, please slow down!
