Reverend backs letter from Jewish leaders

I write to whole-heartedly support the Aug. 20 letter from Jewish leaders in Southeastern Connecticut condemning the white supremacist rally and violence in Charlottesville, Virginia and indeed, increasingly showing its face in all corners of our country.

Emboldened by a president unwilling to denounce such hatred, it is more important than ever for all Americans to do so for we can be sure that the whole world is watching as are our children. By example we must all lead.

In no uncertain terms we must in thought, word and deed say out loud and often: no to anti-Semitism; no to Islamophobia; no to racism, homophobia and sexism. And in no uncertain terms we must say yes to a vision of a more perfect union replete with liberty and justice for all. No exceptions.

We all have a part to play right here in our corner of the world.
