Help Groton's future, elect frugal four

As chair of the Town of Groton RTM Finance Committee, I am supporting the Republican Town Council ticket up for election this coming Nov. 7. As they say on their campaign flyer, “Democrat politicians have proven that they can’t run our state, so why would we let them run our town?” I also want to bring four specific candidates to your attention that I am actively campaigning for; my wife Bonnie Nault, Diane Barber, Scott Aument, and Karen Morton.

Bonnie is a town councilor and retired Navy Captain. Diane is also a town councilor and is the founder and past president of the Groton Good Government PAC. Scott is the current cecretary for the Town Charter Revision Commission and is a past RTM committee chair. Karen is a current town councilor and has 35-plus years of experience in town government.

Most importantly, they are all firmly committed to Groton’s long-term fiscal sustainability and they know that balancing our budget going forward is going to take the guts to make tough decisions about how our town is structured and operated, including paring back our inefficient, multi-layered town bureaucracy.

They all deserve your vote this coming Nov. 7.

    James Nault
