I am saddened and quite angry that our current Montville Town Council would so blatantly ignore the request of both our Montville Commission on Aging and the executive board of our Montville Senior Citizens organization. Each group, comprised of both Republicans and Democrats, requested of this council to reappoint Councilor Billy Caron to serve on the Elderly Commission on Aging as the council liaison. Both requests were not only denied, they were ignored.

The members of the council were voted in by the people of Montville to carry out the wishes of the people. Why would this request be denied? Why would this council not reappoint a valuable member to the elderly commission who has proven his worth in this capacity?

It is disheartening and shameful that the requests of the seniors and the elderly commission would not be granted. The council has vowed to do what the people want. They should start by reappointing Caron to be the liaison to the elderly commission.
