Collins reported, attorney general should act

Two recent columns written by David Collins brought attention to the deplorable blight taking place at the Forge Farm on Al Harvey Road. I grew up just a couple hundred yards away from this special place. I learned to ride a horse in the riding ring that was on the Forge Farm property. Charles and Virginia Berry loved their land. They left their home to people they thought would take great care of this pre-revolutionary site. Who would ever think that an organization like Connecticut Landmarks would then allow the Berry legacy to dissolve in front of our community’s eyes, and to then have our public servants use words like “lawyering up” when asked about what is happening to the property and the agreement that was made years ago? I applaud Mr. Collins for exposing this travesty, and I sincerely hope that our attorney general can bring justice to this utter disgrace.
