Eastern Pequot foundation sponsoring 5k run Saturday on reservation

North Stonington — The Wuttooantam Foundation, a nonprofit operated by members of the Eastern Pequot Tribe, is sponsoring its first Pequot War Memorial 5K at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The event, a run along newly cleared trails on the tribe’s Wright Road reservation, will serve to honor those who lost their lives during the Pequot War of 1637. To register, visit bit.ly/PequotRun.

Founded in 2002, the foundation seeks to promote cultural and historical awareness.
