New London — Paul Barlow of Groton enjoys the sunshine and summer-like conditions Friday while fishing off the Fort Trumbull State Park fishing pier.

Barlow had the entire pier to himself and caught several porgies, which he tossed back in. The Cross Sound Ferry John H, built in 1989, heads out to sea behind him.
