    • Berlin High School superindent David Irwin has suspended football coach John Capodice for the reminder of the season, a day after the CIAC ruled the team had to forfeit its seven wins from this season due to use of ineligible players and recruitment.

"The Berlin School District is in receipt of the ruling by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, Board of Control, dated November 18, 2015, concerning the Berlin football program. Among the sanctions imposed, is that certain identified athletes on the football team have been determined to be ineligible to participate in athletic competition while at Berlin High Schoo,'' said in a press release from the superindent's office. "In light of the report, John Capodice has been suspended in his capacity as head football coach and, similarly, is also ineligible to participate in the final football game this season. From this point forward, the team will be coached by assistant coach Rob Levesque."
