    Local roundup: Old Lyme tops Old Saybrook

    Old Lyme — Matt Watts-St. Germain had 17 points and George Doll 16 points as Old Lyme downed Old Saybrook on Wednesday, 57-42, in a Shoreline Conference boys' basketball game.

    Old Lyme pulled away by outscoring the Rams in the third quarter, 14-4.

    Drake Gavin had 15 points for Old Lyme (10-5) and Josh Turkowski scored nine.

    Vin Baker had 16 points for the Rams (11-4) and Connel Henderson had 10 points.

    • Jacob Sulik had 23 points and Nate Perdomo scored 21 as Norwich Tech beat Grasso Tech, 80-71, in the Constitution State Conference East Division. Jared Neal had 20 points for Norwich Tech (9-6). Ocyrus Vazquez had 28 points for the Eagles (3-15) and Marquez Hamilton scored 14.

    • Griswold beat Wheeler 73-53 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division game on Tuesday night. Mike Dellaporta scored 21 points and Ryan Dussault had 11 rebounds for Wheeler (5-9, 1-6), which has lost eight in a row.

    Girls' basketball

    • Taylor Wolfgang had 15 points as Fitch edged Ledyard, 38-36, in the ECC Large. Brianna Robinson scored 10 for Fitch (7-9, 3-5). Sarah Serbascewicz had nine points for the Colonels (9-8, 3-5).

    • Madison Bodley had 16 points as Norwich Tech beat Grasso Tech, 50-39, in the CSC East. Sheila Jeanty scored 14 for Norwich Tech (6-10) and Lauren Russi had nine points. Tabitha Ford scored 16, Morgan McNeil 12 and Lindsey Murray 11 for the Eagles (2-17).

    • Cebria Outlow scored 25 points as No. 8 NFA beat Woodstock Academy 67-29 in an ECC Large Division game. Hailey Conley had 20 points and Mackenzie Burke scored 11 for NFA (13-3, 7-1).

    • Lincoln beat Williams, 40-20. Claudia Pagnozzi-Schwam had 11 points and nine rebounds, Amy Burzin had four rebounds and Beatrice Mills four assists for Williams (3-9).

    College wrestling

    • Matt McAllister's sudden victory in overtime at 141 pounds sparked Coast Guard to a 19-18 win over Merchant Marine. Coast Guard (6-5) won six of the nine matches, including McAllister's 10-8 win. Matt Vieira (149), Chris Sullivan (157), Mike Palomba (165), Dan Fiorvanti (174) and Marc Wagner (184) also won their matches for Coast Guard.

    Women's basketball

    • Meghan Fornaro came off the bench and had 16 points, six rebounds and three steals as Coast Guard beat Emerson, 61-47, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Freshman Shelby Threlkeld scored 13 in her first start for the Bears (12-9, 9-4) and reserve Torie Sutherland added 13 points and seven rebounds.

    • Amanda Garcia had 15 points and 15 rebounds to pace Mitchell shutout Wheelock in the second quarter of its 51-46 win in the New England Collegiate Conference. Francesca Pinard had 10 points and six rebounds for Mitchell (12-8, 11-4), which outscored the Wildcats 11-0 in the second quarter.

    Men's basketball

    • Micah Baldez had a team-high 19 points with six rebounds and four assists as Coast Guard beat Emerson, 84-76, in the NEWMAC. Reserve Darius Adams had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Alvarez had 16 points and five rebounds for Coast Guard (10-11, 4-7). Also, Ethan Boose scored 14 and Mark Krebs added 15 rebounds. Tyson Hallowell scored 25 for the Lions (9-13, 4-70.

    • Christian Vital had 28 points, five rebounds and three assists as St. Thomas More trounced Northfield Mt. Hermon, 99-73. Charlie Brown had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists for T-More and Omari Spellman had 18 points and seven rebounds. Also, Zach Radz scored 16 and E.J. Crawford added 11 points and four assists.
