Manuel J. Rivera, the new superintendent of New London Public Schools, will discuss the district's proposed budget, its transition into an all-magnet school system and all things education in a live chat on TheDay.com at noon on Wednesday.

Rivera, who grew up and attended high school in New London, began his tenure as New London's schools chief in February after serving as superintendent in Norwalk. In 2006, when he was superintendent in Rochester, N.Y., Rivera was named National Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators.
