Online fundraiser established for Norwich businesswoman fighting cancer

Norwich – Family members and friends of longtime Norwich businesswoman Inger King are organizing fundraisers to support King as she undergoes treatment for an aggressive cancer, King’s daughter said.

King, originally of Norway, has owned King Travel for 41 years, specializing in school trips, honeymoons and guided cultural tours. King stressed education and bringing people together from around the world in her travel agency business, her daughter, Heather Hayes said.

Her office was originally located in downtown Norwich and is now at 310 Salem Turnpike.

King was diagnosed with high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma of the sphenoid sinus Oct 31, 2014, and the cancer has since spread to her neck and chest despite a 13-hour surgery and chemotherapy.

King is in Boston splitting time between Cambridge Spaulding Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital undergoing two types of radiation treatment and chemotherapy every day five days a week.

Family and friends have started a crowd source fundraiser at www.gofundme.com/joy8qo to help pay King’s bills during her hospitalization.
