Lyme budget meeting Tuesday
Lyme — A town meeting in which residents will vote on the proposed 2015-16 town budget is slated for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall.
The proposed budget stands at $10,085,892, which is 8.4 less than the current budget. Operating expenses represent $9,470,230 of that budget, while capital expenses are $615,662. Details of the budget are available at www.townlyme.org.
At a referendum earlier this month, residents approved a 2015-16 budget of $32.5 million, a 1.8 percent increase, for the Lyme-Old Lyme Public Schools. Lyme's share of the schools' budget is $6,559,697.
Tuesday's town meeting will follow a dedication ceremony to mark the completion of a project to renovate and expand Town Hall and build a new library. The dedication will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Lyme Public Library on Hamburg Road.
