Motorcycle rally means periodic road closures in area starting at 11 a.m.
Area drivers can expect road closures throughout the region starting at 11 a.m. Sunday in connection with a motorcycle rally that begins at Mike’s Harley Davidson on Bank Street in New London.
Motorcyclists will first head into New London on Bank street to Route 32, which they will take through Montville to Comstock Cemetery, according to New London Police LT. Jeff Kalolo. The riders will stop at the cemetery before reversing direction and taking Route 32 to Route 163, which they will take to Route 82, heading through Salem, he said.
The bikers will follow Route 82 until they hit Route 156, which they will follow into Old Lyme, he said. The riders then plan to pick up Route 1, which they will follow through Old Lyme, East Lyme and Waterford before returning to the motorcycle shop, said Kalolo.
The lieutenant said drivers in the area can expect periodic road closures of about 15 to 20 minutes at a time as the bikers make their way along area roads, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
