UPDATED: I-95 roadwork underway until September in New London, Groton and Waterford
Editor's note: This version clarifies that lane closures, including ramps, may be involved in the roadwork.
Lane closures, including ramps, are planned on Interstate 95 beginning Monday and continuing through Friday between Exits 83 and 86. Closures are planned during the hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The I-95 closures are "possible and probable in either direction between the specified time frames," according to State Department of Transportation spokesman Kevin Nursick.
Possible lane closures, including ramps, could occur at any time on Saturday and Sunday through September, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
The project consists of the milling and paving of the existing pavement, bridge deck repair and limited drainage improvements.
Bridge joints will also be rehabilitated. The contract was awarded on March 3 to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. of Newington at a cost of $6,997,965.
