Two Norwich Republicans withdraw from ballot

Norwich – Two endorsed Republican candidates have withdrawn from the fall municipal election, leaving the party with four candidates for City Council and four for Board of Education.

According to letters on file in the city clerk's office, Renee Kohanski has withdrawn her candidacy for council, and Norma Kornacki has withdrawn from the Board of Education race.

The town committee has until mid-October to replace the candidates on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election.

Town Committee Chairman Peter Nystrom could not be reached for comment on possible replacement candidates Tuesday.
