    Williams-Mystic students to present local research at semiannual conference

    Mystic — Students will be presenting their research on local marine ecology and oceanography as part of the semiannual Williams-Mystic Conference in Marine Sciences Thursday at 1:30 p.m. 

    Williams-Mystic is the coastal campus of Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and students from various colleges come to Mystic every semester for the maritime studies program offered in conjunction with the Mystic Seaport.

    Students will be presenting on local research such as the impact of microplastics on Mystic River wildlife, dune erosion at Napatree, and the acoustics of the Mystic River estuary.

    The conference will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Carlton Marine Science Center on Bruggeman Place. Attendees can park in the back parking lot of the Seaport.
