Geri Marsten of Niantic, Joanne Moore of East Lyme and Patricia Chaffee of Old Saybrook, members of Niantic Community Church, work to restore the labyrinth at McCook Point Park in Niantic Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016.

The classic seven path circuit labyrinth was created at the beginning of Advent as a metaphor for the journey to the Holy Land.  About a quarter of the labyrinth was damaged due to high water.

Due to the mild winter so far the women decided to try and keep the labyrinth in good shape.

The labyrinth, a gift to the community by the Niantic Community Church, is an ancient form of walking meditation.
