Salem tax base increases by 1 percent
Salem — The town's tax base grew by just over 1 percent in 2015 to $366.7 million, according to calculations from assessor Barbara Perry.
Real estate values increased by $2.4 million to $323.3 million, and motor vehicle values increased by $1.5 million to $33.8 million.
Personal property values declined by $1.8 million to $12 million.
