    High school student shares guide for social media

    Kathryn Fanelli, a senior at Lyme-Old Lyme High School, gave a presentation at The Country School in Madison on her social media book as part of the school’s Elmore Leadership Speaker series.

    Fanelli wrote “The Smart Girl’s Guide to Social Media” for her senior project and discussed the platforms and safe practices with students in grades 4 through 8 at the school. She emphasized that social media is a good resource but has to be used wisely. She also answered questions about specific situations and the publishing process during her presentation.

    Other speakers in the series included former Madison First Selectman Filmore McPherson, and alum Tara Maloney, who reported on her trip to the School for Ethics and Global Leadership in Washington, D.C.
