East Lyme – Police are warning motorists to expect delays Sunday during the Niantic Bay Boardwalk 5K.

There will be heavy pedestrian traffic between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the area of McCook’s Beach, Crescent Beach, and Main Street to the Niantic River Bridge.

A Healthy Kids Fun Run, for children ages 2-11, starts at 9:15 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. at McCook Point Park and finishes at the Hole-in-the-Wall Beach. Post-race festivities, kids’ games and awards follow at the pavilion in McCook Point Park.
