Maritime society to host concert of music commemorating Revolutionary and Civil wars
New London — The New London Maritime Society will be hosting pianist Aymeric Dupré la Tour and baritone Thomas Mullaney in a concert featuring music inspired by the American Revolutionary War and the Civil War at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.
The concert, to be held at the Custom House Museum downtown, will feature "Hail Columbia," dedicated to newly inaugurated President George Washington by Philip Phile, as well as pieces commemorating Civil War battles by 19th century pianist Louis Moreau Gottschalk.
Historical illustrations by Roger and Pamela Ryley will accompany the music.
