    Bible study students help refugees

St. Luke Lutheran, St. David’s Episcopal, Gales Ferry United Methodist, and Ledyard Congregational churches co-sponsored a vacation bible school and raised money for refugees in New London County. In addition to crafts, stories, music, science, recreation, creating pillows for nursing home patients and laundry detergent gift bags, the children raised money for Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, a New Haven-based organization devoted to helping refugees start new lives in Connecticut. Connor Smith, left, Carly Curtis, and school coordinator, Mary Robinson, perform inside the church.
