    My Pet Pal: Purmione

    My Pet Pal - Purmione

Here’s Purmione Warlock, who may have parrot in her bloodline. The first day we met, she jumped — like she’d sprouted wings — from the couch to my shoulder to a windowsill that’s a half-inch wide. And back again, after checking the scenery while I stood there stunned.

Typical black cat traits — talkative, sweet, brave daredevils — describe the Dark One well. Seeing her scrawny abandoned self lurking in the garden spawned two names while we debated her gender. “Purmione” after Harry Potter’s Hermione and the black cats/dark arts mythology; the eternally menacing “Warlock” chosen by her dad-to-be. A couple days later we caught her and brought her in. Within moments she was certain she’d always lived here and is the evil princess of the family. Or the offspring of Toothless from “How to Train Your Dragon”.
