    Kitchen fire displaces 11 in Norwich

    Norwich — A kitchen fire at 103 Fourth St. displaced 11, including seven children and multiple pets, early Friday afternoon, according to the Red Cross.

    Firefighters responded to the kitchen fire at 2:19 p.m. and quickly knocked it down. No one was injured.

    There was extensive smoke and heat damage to the first floor in the kitchen, and smoke damage to the second floor, said Batallion Chief Tracy Montoya.

    The Red Cross is assisting the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
