Margaritas to host Mexican artist Sunday

Mystic — An internationally known yarn painting artist will be on hand from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Margaritas restaurant.

Cilau Valadez, a renowned Huichol artist from Mexico, will be in New England as part of Margaritas Visiting Artist Program. He will demonstrate his craft and interact with guests looking to learn more about yarn painting, Mexican culture and his career.

Valadez represents a new generation of artists who explore and create contemporary themes with indigenous symbols. He has shown his work in over 90 exhibits in North America, over 30 exhibits in Europe and has been featured at events sponsored by National Geographic.
