    Public asked to weigh in on Long Island Sound Blue Plan

    Norwalk — The Blue Plan Advisory Committee will host a forum Nov. 16 at The Maritime Aquarium, 10 N. Water St., to share information and hear public input about the Long Island Sound Blue Plan.

    This is a kick-off event to educate and engage the public about the plan, which is intended to protect the Sound's natural resources and its traditional human uses. The event will begin with the showing of a brief documentary film, "Ocean Frontiers II."

    Panelists and speakers will include: Rob Klee, commissioner of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection; Brian Davis of the Maritime Aquarium; Christine Nelson of the town of Old Saybrook; Nathan Frohling of The Nature Conservancy; Bill Gardella of the Connecticut Marine Trades Association; Milissa Gates of the Surfrider Foundation; Dick Harris of Norm Bloom and Son/Copps Island Oysters; Mike Theiler of Jeanette T. Fisheries and Brian Thompson of DEEP.
