Plum Island film, presentation scheduled

Old Saybrook — The Connecticut Fund for the Environment/Save the Sound will host a film and presentation about Plum Island from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Saybrook Point Inn.

The event will provide information about how the public can get involved in helping to save the island from development. It will include a screening of the 10-minute film "Conservation of Precious Island" starring actor Sam Waterston, a virtual tour, the latest news from a panel of experts and a reception.
