Man stabbed on Montauk Avenue in New London
New London — Police charged a 51-year-old man with first-degree assault Sunday night after a stabbing at 200 Montauk Ave. left the victim hospitalized in serious condition.
Terry Pipkin, of no certain address, was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon. Police, responding to a 911 call at an apartment, found him trying to leave the scene with blood on him, according to a news release issued late Sunday.
The victim, identified only as a male, had severe lacerations to the face, neck and stomach, police said. He was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, and then to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
Police received the 911 call at 7:42 p.m. Sunday reporting a disturbance involving a stabbing.
