The National Weather Service issued Monday afternoon a high wind warning for New London, Fairfield, Middlesex and New Haven counties.
The warning says winds could take down tree limbs and power lines and also cause scattered power outages.
The strongest winds are expected in the late afternoon, according to the NWS. The warning will be in effect until 6 p.m.
As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, some customers in the region were without power, according to an Eversource outage map. The towns with the highest number of outages were Preston with 89 and Waterford with 71.
