Banff film fest screens films to Connecticut College
New London — In what has become a regular stop, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour comes to Connecticut College on Sunday night for screenings of short action, environmental and adventure movies.
The diverse offerings include “DreamRide,” detailing a mountain bike adventure; “Gyalmu’s House,” about a woman living in the Langtang Valley in Nepal who is rebuilding her house after the destructive 2015 earthquake there; and “Trail Dog,” in which a young man explores the mountains of southeastern France with his dogs.
The Conn College screening benefits the school’s women’s volleyball team as well as the Denali Foundation, which develops and supports programs to promote youth and family engagement in the outdoors and to protect access to local green spaces.
The films begin at 7 p.m. in Palmer Auditorium on the New London campus. Tickets are $18 and are available at blog.denalioutdoor.com.
