The East Lyme Democrats are announcing opportunities for residents to become involved in town.

"Whether it be serving on an appointed position or running for a local office; volunteering during the election season; or becoming a member of the Democratic Town Committee, we could use your help," the Democrats wrote in a news release. "We are also seeking student internships to work on campaigns, research issues and assist in organizing events. In turn each student will receive a letter from our leadership attesting to their volunteer efforts to use for future educational and employment opportunities. We promise your involvement will be a positive one. The need is here, the need is now, and all we need is you!"
